Fun Runs in Berlin
Berlin is completely flat—the entire city sits at 34 meters above sea level with zero hills to worry about. Tempelhofer Feld, a 386-hectare park that was Tempelhof Airport until 2008, hosts runs on the original runways where American supply planes landed during the 1948 Berlin Airlift. Many runners cycle to events using the city’s extensive bike lane network. Post-run, you’ll find currywurst stands, pretzel vendors, and groups sitting on the grass. The U-Bahn and S-Bahn run early for morning starts and operate night service on weekends. Weather shifts quickly here—check the forecast even if it looks clear at breakfast.
Getting around: BVG operates U-Bahn and buses. Nextbike for bike rentals.
